Output too large for DVD 5

I have converted a number of AVIs to DVD 5 with no problem using HCEnc.

Now all of a sudden I have one which gives 5.4GB output.

The AVI is in fact smaller than most of the previous AVIs at 672,598KB.

GSpot and VirtualDub report no problems with the AVI.

Any ideas where I should look ???

this happens when the encoder makes wrong the filesize .. try to use quenc or freeenc as encoder ...

Thanks trustfm, will give that a try.
I used HCEnc coz it was recommended as best on AfterDawn.
