Problem converting mkv: virtualdubmod won't work...

Post by Rikka »

I can't convert mkv to dvd, because for some reason VirtualDubMod won't work (I have no idea why). It just shuts down.

Is this a bug, is it my codecs, or is it VDM that is at fault?

My codecs: Combined-Community Codec Pack and RealAlternative

PS: Is it still necessary to demux the mkv-file and separate the subtitles from the rest?

Well, I think so, but I can't check that anymore, because now it suddenly says 'interface not supported'.

Might be because I changed some codec packs...

Right, the mkv is now loading!

Again, tho, is VDubMod being problematic:

AppName: virtualdubmod.exe AppVer: 1.5.10.0 ModName: virtualdubmod.exe
ModVer: 1.5.10.0 Offset: 0004eb26

the only codecs I have is the cccp (as of 2005-09-23):

ok from the 0.4.1 version , mkv joining will be done by avimux !
The problem will not exist any more ! Stay tuned ! Tomorrow i will release it because i found an serius bug on resampling too ! [wav->wav case might generate an 0 byte file ]

to my understanding u must load the subs in step 4 or else there will be no subs on the final output, right??? :?:

right now i have some .mkv files (anime) that i want to convert, the way i have been doing it with .ogm files is first take out the subs with VirtualDubMod, then load them into avi2dvd on step 4, because i want subtitles on my final result, but i cant do that with mkv files cause i cant use VitualDubMod to get the subtilte out, is there another way to get subtiles on the final dvd result without using VitualDubMod

you still can load directly the mkv on avi2dvd . Install directvobsub [99% you have it, its the vobsub 2.2.3 ] . Now when starts encoding [loads the quenc for example] the green arrow of the directvobsub will be appeared . Now select your subtitles .With this trick you will load the subtitles DIRECTLY over the film [permanent subs]
I do not know if this helps you
