Running jobs at lower priority

Post by vmallet »

Would it be possible for Avi2Dvd to start all its processes at a low priority?

I usually run Avi2Dvd jobs on a server that has other things to do. I don't really care how long the encoding takes as long as it doesn't interfere too much with these other things. Ideally, I would love for Avi2Dvd to start all its child processes at a low priority so that they have a minimal impact on the rest of the server.

On a separate note: trustfm, would you consider opening the source of Avi2Dvd?

Thanks,

Vince.

That'd be great! You would most likely get some help for things that you don't have time to focus on and Avi2Dvd would become even better :)

Thanks and keep up the good work,

Vince.
