VirtualDubMod help
Hello,
I'm using VirtualDubMod version 1.5.10.1 and on following the images I get the following error:
'No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format.'
Any idea why I'm getting this? the .avi does have sound though.
koden.

You most likely need the AC3 filter...
I used the AC3ACM v1.2 by fccHandler...google it, I forgot were I got it from. It came in the form of an RAR and the readme file explains how to install it...takes less then a minute to install.
Note: I used another AC3 filter and it didn't work, used this one and it worked...go figure. So if one AC3 doesn't work, try another.
Good luck.
Update: I found out what was causing my "jobs not done, 0 bytes" error...my pathname + file name for the output file was too long.
It looked like this:
C:\Documents and Settings\USER\My Documents\My Videos\MOVIE DESTINATION DIRECTORY\AVI2DVD_TEMP\
Once I changed it to "C:\MOVIE DIRECTORY\AVI2DVD_TEMP"...authoring was back to normal.

Don't abandon your post.
If you find a solution to your problem, post it!

Still no luck
Thanks for your reply but even with the AC3 codec installed as you mentioned in your post, then following the guide again I still get the error.
Here's what happens when I try to convert my movie to DVD in AVI2DVD:

[7:10:13 PM] Starts Wav->Ac3 convertion ...
[7:10:15 PM] Audio converted in Ac3 successfully ! [C:\Avi2dvd_temp\AudioStream 1 WAV 2CH.ac3 -1 Bytes]
[7:10:15 PM] Job NOT Done. There are warnings ... Find at the log file the 0 byte generated file to focus where exactly the problem appears
[7:10:15 PM] All Jobs Done !!!
I used AVIcodec to get the video and audio so maybe this will help:
File: 600 MB (600 MB), duration: 1:41:27, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 50 %
Video: 461 MB, 635 Kbps, 23.976 fps, 512*384 (4:3), DX50 = DivXNetworks Divx v5, Supported
Audio: 139 MB, 192 Kbps, 44100 Hz, 2 channels, 0x50 = Mpeg-1 audio Layer 2 (MP2), Supported
As for the pathname it's just C:\AVI2DVD_TEMP
Any more suggestions would be appreciated,
- koden.
