problem with subtitle character set

Avi2Dvd work OK, but subtitle character set ISO8859-2 (czech) is not correct. Latin letter "z" with caron (code U+017E) is displayed as Low line, latin letter "s" with caron (code U+061E) is displayed as Low line.
Where is problem?

Solution: The Sours Subtitle was in Windows 1250 character set.

I have the same problem with Equilibrium czech subtitles. Does it mean that I have to choose CP1250 character set for them to display them correctly or what?? I?m beginner in this so explain it as simple as possible

You have to use CP1250.

for trustfm: if CP1250 really works better, couldn't you in future versions set the default character set to it instead of ISO 8859-2?
