putting 4 avis into one dvd help

Post by onepie »

i have a lot of avi files at about 175mbs each
so i thought instead of burning these into 50+ different DVDs i wanted to put
like 4 of them into one DVD so i can save myself some money and DVDs

so i took 4 of the files and named them matrix CD1, matrix CD2, matrix CD3, and matrix CD4.
and i loaded just the matrix CD1.
so that mean avi2dvd will automatically load up the other three??? right??

anyways, i was at the part where i make the chapters but i can only make it for matrix CD1.
where are the other three??? isnt it suppose to have loaded?? how can i make chapter menus and take screenshots of them??

FYI, each file is a 30 min tv show.

help me guys... i dont get it

well the other 3 are loaded directly dont worry. now for the screenshots unfortunatelly on the VMRSnapShot.exe you have to press the Load avi button and load the matrix cd2 in order to get screenshots from the 2nd part and so on.
Hope that this is clear

Sorry, the program just slams all the parts together and you have to put the chapters yourself manually.
Ie. Look how many seconds each part is and accumulate the seconds of the parts. For example if you have four parts:

part1 - 30 secs
part2 - 21 secs
part3 - 40 secs
part4 - 20 secs

you make in the second tab the chapterlist as
0,30,51,91
and there you go..

how are they loaded? what makes the program load these other files? Is it the "CD1" CD2" part? Is there still an .avi at the end?

What are the rules for using this CD1.avi....CD2.avi etc?

I tried to put 7 episodes (~600Mb each) of a series onto a DVD, but it only put the first one on :(
I didn't rename my file Matrix CD1.avi, instead I inserted the CDx just before the .avi

Do all the files actually have to be called 'Matrix CDx.avi', or should the CDx method work for all filenames? My filenames were quite long ("program 203 episode title CDx.avi") but did not have any illegal characters. I could have renamed tham all matrix CDx.avi but I would have ahd to write down the original filenames so I wouldn't foget them :P

Thanks for any help!
