Audio Sync Issue when joining multiple AVIs

I have 6 AVI files that I am trying to join, convert and then burn to a DVD. The files join ok and the joined AVI file plays ok on my computer, however after conversion the audio is out of sync with the video. It seems to get progressively worse with each episode. The first couple of episodes are fine, but the last couple are really badly out of sync and unwatchable.

I'm really keen to get this resolved as I have about 30 GB of these files to do and my wife is getting impatient!!

Any guidance for a fix or workaround would be appreciated. I'm using the current version 0.4.4. Here is the logfile:
