Please Help!!!

Post by maradonah »

I have about 15 movies (XVIDs) that when I try to use them with AviSub an error message appears (Seems that divxmux cannot handle this avi..sorry)
I tried regeneratin with avidemux gui but when processing the cursor stops.
Also I tried direct stream copy with virtual dub mode but I have the same erroe.
I hope that anyone can help.
Thanks in advance.

I realize that most of these movies when processing with VirtualDubMode a message(VirtualDub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source AVI file.....................................................) appears and it is asking Do you still want to rewrite the header?
I answered no.

Thanks for your fast reply but some of these movies haven't audio VBR.
so I wonder if there is a solution for how to use avisub with them , They are just XVIDs.

1. changing fourcc from XVID to DIVX is useless - the reason isn't the fourcc - it's a feature in the XVID compresion that DIVX doesn't support.
you can find the real reason by using dmfcheck.

2.VBR isn't bad - only bad VBR muxing (like in nandub and some old versions of AVIMUX) - regenerating these files with virtualdubmod eliminates these problems
