Look on dvd player manual which subtitle formats are supported
idx & sub generated from txt2vobsub are graphical format for DIVX subtitles and have no relevance with DVD subtitles
if your player is divx certified use avisub

thnx. for the fast reply.

however I've spend many, many hours with avisub. And it makes me crazy. Because it has worked fine. But now it won't work any more. It can't Mux ("Divmux cannot handle this Avi").

I've used the Four CC code changer, there is no Qpel, I have unpacked the bitstream but nu results....

And which Avi I want to mux, it won't work.

Please help me.

can't open avi

Post by johnvb »

I now know what the problem is: Avi sub won't work with avi's that can't be opened.

Who knows how to open them.
Gspot.shows some information I don't understand:
Divx 5.0
no common media between pins (input pin and splitter)
anyone knows what this means?

Yes, I tried. and indeed another movie worked. But this one out of 5. So I don't understand what goes wrong.

It is related with the XVID/AVI/DIVX formats but I don't know how.

Anybody?

If the subs are selectable they are simply there BUT OFF SCREEN [99% of the cases are lower so use an upper offest lets say 110]

have you lately installed any codec pack ?
if you do so you are in big problem
try to install divx6 codec but original not from codec pack
if this do not help
I'm afraid you have to uninstal codec pack and try to manualy install codecs
