AVI2DVD with large files.

Post by Gaijin »

I have tried this several times all with different files its ver repeatable. Also forgive me if this has been answered elsewhere. I have been joining AVI files to one large file, then using AVI2DVD to compile it, all goes fine with no errors, except there is ALWAYS only 8 chapters no matter how many I add. Also when playing it in windows media player avter its finished (or any other dvd player), about halfway through, the slider bar goes all the way to end, as if the movie has finished, although it is only half over. It will continue to play to the end, however if you try to fast forward or reverse, the play stops immediatly. I have tried this once with a 6 gig avi file (it was uncompressed sound) and with a 5 gig one, both with the exact same results. Only 8 chapters (even though there should have been 15) and the player thinks the dvd has ended after around halfway through, even though it will continue to play to the end, unless you pause, or rewind, in which case the video stops immediatly

Any Ideas? I hope this is clear.

Well to post on my own question.....

I am pretty sure long files+AVI2DVD= broken. It just does not do well with 5+ hour files...
