How to split svcd files so they can fit a 700MB CDRW?

I am trying to convert an avi file to svcd, but it will not fit on a 700MB CD-RW. Does anybody know of a way to split a svcd file? For some reason it is 1.0GB after converting to svcd or vcd.

Thanks for any help or support...
