As you may know from my posts I had a problem trying to make AviSub work with some TV series episodes.
It works perfectly for LOL releases, but it doesn't work for XOR releases.
XOR releases have an extra feature in Audio (16 bit) and maybe that was the problem.
I think I have found a solution though!
I downloaded FixAvi (a small DOS application). When AviSub says it cannot handle the file, just drag and drop it on FixAvi icon (or run it in DOS mode).
After a minute or less, it is fixed. Now if you try to run it in AbiSub it all goes well!!!
I only tested it for a 24 XOR-release episode and it works!
Try it and if it works perhaps my fellow Cretan trustfm could add it as a preprocessor step in Avisub?

I have news!!!
I've used FixAvi for a couple of days and I've come across a couple of files it could not fix for AviSub (Lost season3 episodes 6 and 12...).
FixAvi did its work but AviSub still could not process these files successfully.
So I found another way to get things done.
I used a program called AviDeMux.
I opened my avi there and I chose "Build Time Map" and "Yes" in the 2 following dialogs. After that I just saved the file.
The produced avi could now be processed by AviSub!
Impressive and fast!

The file is XviD MPEG-4 .avi HR with ac3 audio Resolution: 960X 544 or 960x528.
Is it should work?! - because it doesn't work for me!!!!!
I have already done the AviDeMux trick
The message Is: "seems that divxmux cannot handle this avi... sorry".

yesterday was trying to mux an Xvid file and tried everything but wasnt successful, at the end i found that the Solution was to change the file extension from *.AVI to *.avi, that means from Uppercase extention to a lower case one.
