Invalid Filename

Post by Dunx »

Everytime I try to do any AVI - DVD conversions it always comes up with the error

"Invalid Filename."

I've checked the filename and path contain no illegal characters, and have searched this forum and google to no avail.

An easy way to test is after adding the job and clicking "GO!!!" if I press cancel when the notification of disc space comes up, the error will display right then (Invalid Filename). However if I don't press cancel and continue the job it will only happen right at the end.

Help? :(

This is for all forum members and googlers with this same problem.

After about a week of frustration, I had this strange "invalid filename" error that would just pop up. I even did the shorter simple names and put it at the lowest directory possible. C:/ I:/ etc... But I noticed at one folder still permitted me to encode without that error. It was the one with the "Avi2dvd_temp" folder in there. Of course I started running a few in there and found out that all of the avi's stuck together if it shares the same folder.

So to fix this invalid filename problem, try to manually create the folder within your movie folder "Avi2dvd_temp". That's the folder that is automatically generated when you start the process. For some reason it stopped for me until I made it.
