Help Needed....PC Shuts down

Post by angie »

Grrrrr got a new problem now. Whilst running avi2dvd when the program reaches the video encoding bit, my laptop switches of. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. Is it a problem with the movie or am i missing something in the program.
Please please can anyone help, having nothing but problems with this program. :(

Sounds like that might be an overheating problem. Video encoding is very CPU-intensive, which generates heat. Also laptops are more prone to overheating than desktops.
Ensure all grills on the laptop are free of dust and maybe try blowing air over it with a room fan while encoding to see if it makes any difference.
