i did all that u said to do with message and all so now when i load i video file it lodes i litle while and than crashez and gives the message "floatin point by zero" =S

but i got audio sourse =)

I just installed AVI2DVD after reading various positive recommendations for it. But I must say I find it virtually unuseable in its present shape. For a start, the error being discussed here seems a very crude bug! Those are valid filename characters, widely used.

Hi am new on here, have just started to use avi2dvd and I cant get any options up for the audio stream. I have taken the advice on here and changed the name several times but it still wont give me any options, the file name is In My Time Of Dying. Can anyone help me?

I do not get audiostream options being shown.

I resited the file to a desktop folder but still no audiostream options.

The top option is blank while the other two show 'none'.

i did what you said about the warning, and it worked. So than i click on GO!!! and than it says select an audio file. So when i looked, the audio file was gone. So i loaded it, and the audio file showed up again. Than i hit GO!!! and it said select an audio file. What can i do to fix this problem?

Movies to DVD using AVI2DVD

Here are the step by step instructions to convert and burn your .AVI movie to a blank DVD/ CD that will be playable on your home DVD player.

Please note:Only .AVI files can be converted and then copied with this program.

PREPARATION:

PLEASE NOTE: You will need to have AT LEAST 9.7 GB of free space in your hard drive before you will be able to encode a file

We recommend that you download the following codec bundle pack in order to enable all software to manipulate your multimedia files.

To begin create a folder within the (C) drive of your computer following this path? ?My Computer? --> ?Local Disk (C)?--> right click (on a blank spot in the folder) scroll down to 'New' and slide over to 'folder". Name this folder ?V2DTEMP?.
Files to be converted should be moved and renamed before the software is run, (IE: ?movie titleCD1.AVI?), simply open up both folders and drag and drop the newly named file from your shared folder into the ?V2DTEMP? folder.
* Note that the movie file cannot contain any special character, such as:
! @ # ^ & * ( ) { } [ ] + - * / | \ _
If your file has such characters, rename it (right click the file and select ?rename?).

CONVERTING YOUR FILE WITH AVI2DVD INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1
Launch the AVI2DVD software.
The software will open to 'Step 1 Input'.
Select 'AVI MODE'
Click 'Load avi/ogm/mkv/wmv'
A window will pop up and you would search for the file you have just moved to the new folder in your C drive.
Once selected, the file should automatically generate an audio stream.

Step 2
Click on the 'Step 2 Output' tab in the menu.
Your selections will depend on whether you are burning to a DVD or a CD
Select 'DVD or SVCD' (for DVD) or 'VCD' (for CD)
Choose your disk size from the 'Choose Disk Size' drop down menu (By default it will be DVD-5 4.7GB or 800 CDR-80 Min).
Check the 'Make ISO' box (for DVD) or 'Make Cue/ Bin' (for CD)
Observe and note the output folder "...\Avi2dvd_temp"

Step 3
Click on the 'Step 3 Encoders' tab in the menu.
Select 'QuEnc' underneath encoders.
Check 'Use VBR'
Check 'Use Hi quality'
Uncheck 'Extreme'
Check 'Use Trellis Quant'

Steps 4 and 5 (Steps 4 and 5 are not related to converting your .AVI file)

Check 'Hide External Applications' (although we do not recommend that you surf while decoding).
Click 'Add Job'
Click on 'GO!!!'

If you are confronted with a ?Select Audiostream? error message, ensure that the file name doesn?t contain any special characters, is an .AVI file (and has been renamed with ".AVI at the end) and that the codec pack has been installed.
If the file is the correct format the program will automatically select an audio stream.

Now wait while the software converts.
This process does not require your constant attention we would suggest that you begin the process before you go to bed or before leaving for work.
Remember to make sure you don't have a screensaver on (turn your screensaver off) or a scheduled task as both will slow the encoding process down considerably.

Hi guys

i tried all the method above
from removing Avi2DVD and reinstalling
to cleaning registry

but i still can see the audiostream of this particular MKV file..
when i check.. it is Audio: Dolby AC3 48000Hz 6ch [Audio] *under Windows Media Player Classic*
Video: MPEG4 Video (H264) 1280x720 29.97fps [Video]
film information is loaded properly only no Audiostream..
so i cannot convert...

Please help?

I tried changing the name of the file to take out all the punctuation and I am still getting the pick an audiostream message. Any other suggestions?

i tried the above method and it started to convert but after about 30 seconds it comes up with an error saying file access denied. what cani do to correct this please?
