Avi2Dvd mp4 audio

Post by FredDub68 »

I've never posted to a forum, so I hope that I am not breaking any protocol. I love Avi2Dvd and have been using it for a few months. I'm quite the technical novice, but from what I have seen, Avi2Dvd gives the best results out here. I was always a little disappointed that previous versions did not support converting mp4 video. I was excited to see that the newest version did (Version 0.61). However I have a couple of mp4's that I would like to convert to Dvd, but the program apparently isn't extracting an audio stream and I have no choices for the audiostream. Any ideas on the problem? I am running Vista home premium by the way. Thanks.

I need more info for your mp4 video file.

1. Download and install the complete freeware application called mediainfo from here : http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en
2. select view - basic
3. drag and drop your MP4 video over the mediainfo window
4. press the "print screen" button and capture the mediainfo main window
5. open paint (start - all programs - accessories - paint)
6. press edit - paste
7. press file - save as (use jpeg format)

Now upload the captured photo in this thread.
If you do not know how to include e photo on our forums take a look at this short tutorial to learn how to do it (for free)

Hello

I have renamed my folder and installed all codecs but I am still getting same result. I do get a dialog box with the new version with four options every time I load a file telling me that Avi2Dvd.exe cannot load ffdshow because it is not on ffdshow's whitelist or blacklist. It then lists 4 options: 1)don't load ffdshow (just this once), 2) don't load ffdshow (always), 3) load ffdshow (just this once), 4) load ffdshow (always). It defaults to the first option which i've used twice for some avi's. The first time I did not get any audio in the dvd file.

Fred try option 3 or 4 to let ffdshow have access. You wont have audio without ffdshow or codec access. I submitted a thing when I did it for ffdshow to whitelist the app. Hopefully that will help.
