it seems to be nothing wrong with pgc tables it should be some picture but
from v 1.19 to latest when I try to play on dvd with subtitle created with txt2vobsub I do not get play simply player block
ok since I get error txt2vobsub bitmaps are stayed so I can use my son to vobsub version and result is following I get movie start but I do not get subtitle even player show subtitle exist
then I created subtitle my own way and works
look here
http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?a ... 635A606568
there is some errors and I sending you bitmaps and progs I use
my bitmap is with full movie name 8bit windows bitmap (look at doc with steps I use)
I use maestrostb 2.6.0.0 unicode version (no matter non-unicode works same way I test both)
sub2vobsub modulated (source is included)
regional settings for non-unicode programs is set to 1252 character set
I think maybe some bug in maestrostb version you use to create bitmaps since any new version do not have 4 bit windows bitmap (I think since 2.5.2.0 version)

hello there !
the floating point is already fixed.
the error Acces violation ... appears if you use strangecharacters on the path
Like :
c:\fils\it's all gone
Use this :
c:\fils\its all gone
But mine problem is not that . i do not know why you cannot play the files on yours dvd .
Did you tried with varius palletes ? you canno even play the film ?
The polish article here :
http://pioneer.razorpoint.pl/podstrony/ ... dxsub.html you wrote it or someone else?
Thx

I get floating point error (this is not bothering me since if you use time coded subtile there is no menace to fps)
Yes with txt2vobsub subtitles generated subtitles from version 1.19 I do not get even play since player do not read subtiles correctly (comp is ok but I use vobsub 2.32 I tested with 2.23 there no subtile on comp too I do not know where subtitle ends but I do not get with 2.23 version of vobsub no subtile but with 2.32 subtitles displayed correctly earlier versions like 1.17 and 1.18 displayed correct color and correct position on computer)
Yes I point on this particular text but maestrostb is no longer create 4bit bitmaps 8 bit bitmaps is only you can get and I do not know how much you can read this text there is line where write that you can not longer use 4 bit bitmap so choose 8 bit with same settings you obviously look at pictures where 4 bit bitmap is selected
I get where error is so (c:\fils\it's all gone) I tested with some other folder name and it worked correctly so do not bother about that error
HOW I test
I use same movie only *.idx and *.sub are different
I create txt2vobsub subtitle
then I create 5 folders copy movie in this folders
folder 1 original movie with txt2vobsub original created subtitle
folder 2 original movie with txt2vobsub created subtilte and changed idx with your suggestion 1
folder 3 original movie with txt2vobsub created subtilte and changed idx with your suggestion 2
folder 4 original movie with txt2vobsub created bitmaps and son2vobsub mod created subtitle
folder 5 with my method of creation of vobsub subtitle
Burn this on single dvd
test folder 1 no play at all
test folder 2 no play at all
test folder 3 no play at all
test folder 4 movie start but no subtitle displayed but dvd player report that subtitle exist
test folder 5 correct play with generated subtitle
so movie is playable on player
block of play is dependable of sub or idx file
but I think since I notice not small difference in sub (size difference) file that sub file is incorrect since idx carry some basic info so it should make no problem but I did not have more time to examine this to details (line to line) but seems me correct)
I think you will understand me now
My opinion is there maybe some incompatibility with son2vobsub you use (1.0) and I use (1.0 mod 3)
I hope you get files to (maestro stb and son2vobsub mod3)
I even try to get subtitle with original son2vobsub (1.0 same you use) to create subtitle and new maestro stb and I get same result like I get with txt2vobsub originally created subtitle no play at all.
I think that avisub and txt2vobsub is great apps
I use avisub regularly and I like to use txt2vobsub regularly too
I like to help to improve apps
Thanks for your time and will to help
regards

continued.....
example
I can make folder like this (tested and working) and burn to dvd and pioneer do not have problems with this
movie.avi with avisub muxed subtitle
movie.srt
movie.ssa
movie.idx
movie.sub
and player reports 4 subtitles correctly and I can choose all subs and they are displayed correctly
default is avisub muxed subtitle other are optional
I do not ask for 5 subtitle for movie since 1 is more then enough but since some of xvid movies (opendivx fourcc) can not pass avisub muxing there is no other way to see custom subtitles on dvd player then to use txt2vobsub (or like I do use 5 apps)
I hope you see some sugestions for avi sub too about fourcc changing

ok thank you for your support !
As you can see i work hard in order to fix the problem .
I made this version now :
http://www.trustfm.net/helpfiles/txt2vobsub.exe [2.4]
1) It works on 8bit bmps .
2) the fps error is gone
3) you can use the safe colors ... (i will explain you later what this does...)
make 2 versions of idx :
a) with normal colors
b) with safe colors.
tell me what happens on yours computer and on yours dvd .
PS : On mine pc i only have the 2.23 version of vobsub and works perfectly !
PS2: Your palette is an CRCBY this means that on the PC you must have WRONG COLORS exept if the CRCBY Color matches CASUALY with the RGB ONE ! On this one im 100% sure ! That's why if on son2vobsub mod you use the white text color(ec8080) on the pc you should get red/pink color on the test ! Thta's why you must use the yellow color on the text since that color has rgb=crcgy code !!!
I have found some colors that have quite the sames rgb=crcby codes and i named them safe colors ...
PS3: Yours dvd player read the crcby colors from idx but on the pc you get wrong colors (generally with a few exeptions) --> tell me if this is correct. For example try with your method to create white text subtitles and tell me what you get on the pc ! im pretty sure that your text will be pink !

I have ati graphic 9800 pro card with catalyst 5.9 drivers
I have little orange (not quite yellow) but not red/pink colors on comp
and I get same on comp and on dvd
difference is only dll and you can't have both versions at same time
thanks

IMPORTANT TOPIC
possible solution :
FOR PC :
Since the rgb and the CRCBY[Palette of son2vobsubmod] palettes are not matching at all i think that on your computer you must use RGB (like me) and not by trying to produce an new palette (idx based on CRCBY) like son2vobsubMOd does .
This is conceptually wrong .
---> so i would not recomend to someone to use son2vobsubMOD'S personal pallete but the default one [the RGB]
FOR DVD :
I do not know but i think that the best solution is to include the IFO files which are containing the original (good) palettes !!!
I made for you two ifo
yellow text
white text
----------------------------------------------
SO IF I WHERE YOU I WOULD HAVE DONE THIS :
1)FOR PC
idx/sub with RGB palletes and NOT CRCBY
2)FOR DVD
i would have tried to include an ifo file like this :
VTS_01_0.IFO (must have the same name??? i do not know !!!)
matrix.avi
matrix.sub
matrix.idx
hoping that mine dvd player would detect the palette of the IFO and not the rgb pallete of the IDX

Another tip :
I tried on another pc and it freezes the film but this does not happen on media player Classic .
So play them with mpc . Install the latest divx codec too (6.2.5)
This bug has nothing to do with txt2vobsub since i also tried your method and has the same bug !
So in order to do testing on pc use mpc

since I already know answer for white color since I tried that too
no I get white color on pc and dvd
yellow color palette is riped of some dvd pgc table realy I do not remember which one but official release for sure
I will try your latest version and I already use latest divx for pc
with txt2vobsub on pc is little gray and on dvd is green full
I authorize dvd professionally for a long time (around 3 years) and I'm quite educated about color tables and how to use it so my pc do not have any color table and I do not use any color table which is not rgb because I will not get any sub on dvd too. I even examine gufiak firmware to get color tables which pioneer use
maybe particular color I use as yellow (this is not lemon yellow which is clearly rgb palete for sure) is not quite in rgb table (but as I earlier said this work both on pc and dvd)
I tried several variants of yellow tables which I rip from pgc tables of dvd and all works and white as well too
so I do not know I do not saying that txt2vobsub do not work on other players I simply say they do not work for me
I will test and post results
