hm, i wonder if i did anything wrong, when i used imgburn to open DVD_Image.iso and burn it, my dvd player couldn't play it, it said: Not supported file
how come, i'm really frustrated, i kept trying many time but i couldn't do it.
here is the picture when i go to DVD_Image.iso-->VIDEO_TS (my AUDIO_TS is empty)

Tip: use a rewritable DVD for the first burn If it works, burn it to a normal recordable...

Personally, I never produce an ISO. I just burn the DVD structure with Nero (pick Video DVD and take the files in \VIDEO_TS).

it's really weird.
Whenever i try to create a menu (and it did appear at the end), i always end up getting and DVD_image.iso like the picture above which i can't not play on my dvd player. But then when the menu file didn't appear in the result (i did create it but then it just didn't appear) i got a different DVD_image.iso, i mean:
When i created the menu and it did appear at the end: my DVD_image.iso->VIDEO_TS would contain:
VTS_01_2.VOB
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_0.VOB-->This one should represent the menu
VTS_01_0.IFO
That was the one i couldn't play on my dvd player after burning.

When i create a menu and somehow it didn't turn out to be in the result, my DVD_image.iso->VIDEO_TS would contain:
VIDEO_TS.BUP
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VTS_01_0.BUP
VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB
(The VTS_01_0.VOB is missing)
That was the one i can play on my dvd player but i can't see the menu

Shortly if i create a menu then i can not play the disk in my dvd player.

if i calculate wrong, would it affect my result? i mean, before, i calculated it wrong, i ended up cannot open my DVD in my dvdplayer and when i open disk D(in my computer), it only has 8 mins while my original file is 2 hours. I watched my avi file (the one before converting), it played just fine.

I haven't used customised chapterlists myself, but I don't think you understood it right. The numbers you put on the list show how many seconds the movie has played before that particular chapter starts. For example, if one of your chapters starts @ 1:40:26 --> you should have the number (60+40)x60+26=6026 in your chapterlist to mark the starting point for that chapter.

Like this: 17:56-->1076, 35:42-->2142, 46:17-->2777 etc.

i have a video file with 17: 56, 35:42, 46:17 and i got the following numbers in my chapter list: 0,1076,2142,5935( for the last number i subtract 60 seconds like Trustfm said before)
i said if i didn't create a menu, my dvd would be fine,(i played the one without menu on my dvd player already and it played just fine), but if i create a menu, my disk just wouldn't work on dvd player

help, plz.

Yeah, I'm sure you *calculated* it right. The thing is, I'm almost certain that you misunderstood what you were supposed to calculate.

Look, the numbers in the list mark starting points for the chapters. The meaning of those numbers is this: HOW MANY SECONDS the movie has played BEFORE the CHAPTER starts. That's the information your player needs to be able to jump into that location. Now take a deep breath and ask yourself:

The last number in my list is 32036. 32036 seconds = 8 hours+53 minutes+56 seconds. Is the movie I'm trying to make really 9 hours long?

0 starts the 1st episode

Now, in trustfm's example the overall length of the movie is 15+22+30 minutes= 1 hour 7 minutes =4020 seconds. He obviously meant that the 1st chapter is 15 minutes long, the 2nd chapter is 22 minutes long and the 3rd chapter is 30 minutes long. Look at his chapterlist. Notice that all the numbers in it < 4020. Get it?

EDIT:

It just occured to me that this could also be the reason why your dvd is unusable. If you put ''bad" chapter buttons to the main menu, they are like shortcuts to places that do not even exist. You also said that without menu the dvd would work fine. My bet is that without menu AVI2DVD just ignores your last chapters, because they are "out of range". Apropos of nothing, did you also check that the chapters started where you wanted them to?

Maybe you could try making a dvd image using some short (only a few minutes long) video clip and use a chapterlist like this: 0, 30,60,90,120.
If I'm right, the chapters should be 30 seconds long. That way you wouldn't waste too much time in case i hapeened to be wrong.

Edit: I just made a dvd image using a video clip that was 2 minutes 1 second long.

My chapter list was this:
0,20,40,60,80,100,115

Then I mounted the image with daemon tools and played the "dvd" with powerdvd. This is where the chapters started:
Chapter1 0:00, Chapter2 0:20, Chapter 3: 0:40, Chapter4 1:00, Chapter5 1:20, Chapter 6 1:40, Chapter 7 1:55

So it seems that I was right.
