I did use AVI2DVD to joint multiple AVIs togther and create a chapters / menu buttons for the start of each. It was a bit cumbersome and it looked like it worked ok.
However the audio was out of sync with the video more and more with each episode. This fist couple were ok, but the 5 & 6 episodes were quite bad. The joined AVI file plays ok on my computer all the way through so its something in the conversion process. Any sugesstions?

How did you do this, I would like to know

Once you rename your avi's correctly you select the first one in your list, then you click on Add Job. Once you hit GO! it automatically joins/includes whatever avi's you have in the folder. It is a good idea to make a new folder with the renamed avi's for this reason.

I haven't figured out how to make a menu that includes buttons for the individual avi's yet however.

The menu creation function allows you to make a button for each chapter. I calculated the number of seconds each episode was and entered a chapter at the start of each episode when I ran the program. Check out the user guide on the homepage, it basically tells you how.

i stumbled over avi2dvd a few days ago, when i converted some tv stuff to dvd using nero vision. first: avi2dvd is great, but it really lacks the possibility of importing more avi streams!!! i am running now the latest version, but even in this its not possible to import different avi files. does anybody know if they are working on that?

PLZ add this function, would be VERY useful.

in some cases i have here 2x 700mb xvid files, each with SRT subs, but it simply doesnt work with avi2dvd, as it can't handle 2 avi streams and put subs on each one (2 avi- 2 sub files).

I really prefer avi2dvd to all those other 1-click tools, like convertXtodvd, which really sucks and nero vision. I hope you get it done soon, but no hurry!

in my case i often have tv stuff which needs to be encoded, but i am too lazy to encode each file seperatly and then import them into dvdlab, or encore.

koji for now avi2dvd can handle up to 9 SAME STYLE avis at once .
If you have up to 9 episodes with the same resolution and bitrate avi2dvd will join them and produce one dvd .
In order to load multiple avis you must do like this :

Matrix cd1.avi
Matrix cd2.avi
Matrix cd3.avi
Matrix cd4.avi

then just load
Matrix cd1.avi on avi2dvd and all 4 files will be processed.

Same with the subs
Matrix cd1.srt
Matrix cd2.srt
Matrix cd3.srt
Matrix cd4.srt

but i read something about unsynch audio... and waht about the subs?

when i have:

XXX.cd1.avi
XXX.cd2.avi

and:

xxx.cd1.srt
xxx.cd2.srt

will avi2dvd also import the subs proberly? i am not at my computer, but what i can recall, is there only an option for importing 1 sub file, or am i wrong?

For now I encode the movies seperately. Two 1 hour movies come in at 5.5 gig. After using tmpgenc dvd author I then use DVD shrink it back down to 4.5. That's a pain in the ass and would be avoided if we could at least control the file size beyond the options given. Instead of having a gap between 1000m and a full DVD the software could have a half dvd or 1/3rd dvd.
