I have posted a fix that may solve the problem of missing audio streams for Matroska (.mkv) files.

hello,
i always have the problem, that the audio does not seem to be there, when i loaded the *.avi file in the programm.
here, it is an AVI file, where the audio seems to be not there. But when i play it, i can here the audio part.


before, i have the video and the audio in separated files.
I 'mux' them with virtualdub

and when i loaded the new avi file, the programm can not find the audio part.

the members before describe a solution for an mkv file (by sorting the audio and the video part in a new order).

Is there also a solution for an avi file??? when VLC can play the avi and i can hear the audio part, then
it cannot be, that codecs are not there........?

Hi everyone. I too had problems at first with no audo.. Following the suggestion of moving the file into an other file started to work when then I got a "FILE ACCESS DENIED" Then is stops.. WTF? How do I fix this??

This looks like an old sticky thread...I followed everything listed, just trying to convert .avi to dvd and still no audiostream. I downloaded the latest version and have the latest codecs recommended.

Hey all, I have followed the instructions on this forum to the letter and still no audio stream...is there anyone that still watches these forums?

I was fine with version .44(?). I just installed v.5 and had no audiostreams.

When I installed I unselected the options to install FFdshow & Xvid (since the bundled versions are now out of date). I also deselected "Register filters" (to avoid conflict with my existing codecs).

I fixed this problem by reinstalling and checking "Register filters". You can fix your other codecs afterward (especially ac3filter which Avi2DVD always messes up by installing an old version.).

At first, I had the same problem with no choice for Audio stream. After reading this forum, I found the solution. You do not need any additional software to get the audio stream. Look at first post about "warning". Here's what I did and it worked perfectly. I created a folder on my C drive called "Movie Organizer. You can name it anything you want. I then copied the .avi movie to the Movie Organizer folder. I opened up the AVI2DVD program and directed the input from the Movie Organizer file. Immediately an Audio Stream choice became available. (Like the rest of you, the audio stream option was not available when I pointed the input from a saved .avi file on my external flash drive.) Once the program AVI2DVD had its video and audio inputs, it created a "temp" file within my "Movie Organizer" folder. It took about 1-1/2 hours to render the appropriate files. When it finished, I opened my "Movie Organizer" folder, and saw a folder named "AVI2DVD_temp" folder. I opened that folder and saw a bunch of files. I clicked on the "DVD" folder and another folder opened that had the Audio_TS and Video_TS files. So far the file structure looked like this: C:\Movie Organizer\AVI2DVD_temp\DVD. Next I opened my burn program (I use Nero, but any one of them will work.) Click on Create DVD and import the Audio_TS and Video_TS files. Click burn and soon I had the actual DVD movie that will play in any DVD player.

Thanks, the first reply (which is now sticky) on page 1 sorted it for me. Just created a new folder, put my .avi files in there, and no problem.

Must be some sort of bug that needs tracking down. Only 2 things had changed on my PC, though i did them both at the same time.

So if it helps the program writers track the bug down, all i did was download the latest version (which i guess is not the answer as no one else seemed to have the problem), and also i went over to downloading my torrents directly to an external drive. Though i do not see how that should cause an issue. As normal i took all crazy signs ()[];' etc.... out of the download files and renamed then.

Anyway, Avi2Dvd is an awesome program, keep up the GREAT work

Everything else works, I can play anything, convert anything. I've reconverted and renamed and moved. I've run Avi2dvd as a different user. No. Audio. Stream. Everything hangs on that one impossible barrier. Is there a real solution?

Try reinstalling avi2dvd, and make sure you check the box for registering the filters.
