...but there aren't any "SPECIAL" characters in the file name.
Also, it doesn't allow me to choose an "AudioStream."
This seems like a great program only if I could get it to work.
-Any help would be greeeaaaatly appreciated!

I don't know much, but I have experienced this before. Just rename your file to a shorter name using letters/numbers only, and it should work...
this worked for me...
try this

Even if the file name is okay, you might want to check the location at which the file is saved.
For an example, C:\Documents and Settings\HP_?garen\ would not work because of the ? in HP_?garen. I guess Avi2dvd doesn't like Sweden

This happens to me because I have the file on my desktop, and my username in xp has a ! in it.
Copy the file to the main directory of your hard drive
e.g. c:\blahmovie.avi
and it will work fine. (Provided you are not also outputting to your desktop in which you will also get this error)

My mate has this problem also.
The reason is that he has a hp computer that has the underscore " _ " in it
example C:\Documents and Settings\HP_?garen\ would not work because of the ? in HP_?garen. I guess Avi2dvd doesn't like Sweden
In this it is the _ just after HP in the target directory. the ? may also give you problems not sure though aint tested it
Find the AVI file in your directory and right click it, "properties" and check the target, check to see if it has any characters in it other than numbers or letters. If so (especially for HP computers) cut and paste it to a newly created directory before ,example "HP_user" . This can be hard with hp computers because the hard disk drive is usualy called "hp_user" and it can't be renamed you need to format it and rename it without symbols.
HP is such a pain in the azzz.

HELLO,
You just gave me some bad news about my HP. However, I'm willing to format and rename if you can tell me where I can get instructions.

It has been my experience that when you have your files in a folder that is in a long path name like my documents\... it looks like this in the path C:\documents and settings\name of computer\my documents\...
Windows tries to shorten the path name and inserts a special character automatically to make it shorter. Make a folder from your C:\ directory and the path will be short enough so windows dont add the special character.
Yes, it is true... HP computers are named HP_Owner by default and the special character _ is in the path. You dont have to rename your computer to make this work, just make a folder from your C:\ directory. It will look like this C:\what ever name you want the folder to be. (or made simpler) C:\DVD
