Yeah basically my audio isn't in sync when i play the video through the dvd but it is perfect when i play it just on my computer, its really annoying and im using freeenc, from the avi2dvd is there anything i can do to make it in sync as its very annoying
Heres some info of the vid, it plays at 23.976fps just incase it helps

same as mine, i converted an .mkv to dvd with avi2dvd and burned it in a dvd-r with imgburn. it plays on my dvd player although the sound does not sync with the images. the sound playback is faster than the video playback. anyone has same problem or has some solution?

Yup same problem and i've browesed these forums and browsed and nothing no one seems to have a solution. Whats going on with these "support" forums?

did you tried on lower burnig speeds better media supports ?

yea. i have the same problem and i lowered the recording speed from 16X to 4X and it still did not make a difference.

I use to have the same problem but only if I pause the movie or I try fast forward or rewind. If you let the movie play natually it may work ok. But it may not, I just wanted to tell you that if you do that then it screwws up the speech.

The reason for this, is that some avi files start the sound a few seconds late or earlier than the video kicks in. In a player it does not matter, however when they get converted, the audio is stripped first, then the video is stripped, then they are joined together. This results in an audio file that is shorter or longer than the video resulting in this delay.


The only Way that I have been able to fix it is to chop off the first second or so before each AVI then run avi2dvd. This fixes it every time.

My problem actually seems to be that the video is playing faster than the audio. Audio matches exactly between a DVD player and my original AVI file, but the video moves at a faster rate on the DVD player. Any clue what might be causing that?

Can you tell me how you'd "chop off" the first part of the video.
My downloads of TV shows are OK, but most movies seem to have the sound out of sync by maybe 20 sec.
