More Problems... help please.

Post by synkarius »

I've got two problems with my conversion.

I'm converting a .wmv to a DvD with a menu.
Using HCEnc/best. Win XP SP2.

1) I have a bunch of sections in my video that are all black and soundless. The conversion process cuts them all out. This is aggravating the life out of me.

2) The DvD files created are somehow flawed or incomplete. The .ISO image doesn't play on my virtual drive, on my DvDR drive (after burning to a physical DvD) or in my DvD player. Black screen. Nothing.

So how do I know the black sections are being cut out if the finished DvD files (the .IFO) won't play? I watch the preview during the encoding AND the .VOB files do play in Matroska.

Here's my log file if it helps. It's the same thing every time. (Though once, I did get avi2dvd to create some other files- maybe they were .BUPs? I forget the extension, unfortunately, because I deleted them when I realized my black sections were gone.) I've run the entire process about 5 times now.

What am I doing wrong? Is there a setting somewhere that I need to check?

sounds like you are authoring it yourself. I dont know why it happens but I have run into a similiar bug. I would recomend putting in a "blank" sound file. a wave of blank sound matching the duration of the black spaces. Encoders dont handle no sound at all very well.
