open your movie in virtual dub and set video to direct stream copy make sure audio interleave is on and then save it as a new avi. and then your audio will show up.
if if your movie doesn't have audio then you need to make a silent .wav file and in the audio options in vdub you use that wav file as audio for the avi.
hope this helps

Another solution might be to do with the filepath naming - see another post "No Audio Stream - No Problem".
To test quickly, rename your file to something boring like test.avi, and move it to a root directory, so there's no chance of oddly named sub-folders mucking up AVI2DVD - it can't handle any but the most basic naming convention in filepaths and folders.
