Problems with .mkv files with subtitles converting to DVD

Post by TheDoctor »

Greetings,

I would like to convert some mkv files that contain subtitle tracks to DVD. However, the AVI2DVD program only allows you to upload external subtitle tracks, it doesn't allow you to utilize subtitle tracks already in the file that you are converting. I have attempted to do this and while I get a very high quality DVD at the end of the process, I can not turn on subtitles.

Am I missing some functionality on the AVI2DVD program?

If not, is there some way that I can either export the subtitles from my mkv file to a .srt file that can be used with AVI2DVD?

If not, is there some way that I can merge the subtitle track on my mkv file to the video so that it will no longer be a separate track? I will always want the subtitles on so I wouldn't mind putting putting them on the video permanently.

Please just let me know. I am having a really hard time figuring this out.
