Floating point division by zero error

Hi,

I am getting the 'Floating point division by zero' error when i try to load a .avi file into Avi2DVD. My hard drive crashed so i've done a fresh install of Windows 7 Professional 64bit on a new hard drive but when i went to install and use Avi2Dvd for the first time, i get the error above. I remember it working on my old hard drive but i can't remember doing anything special to make Avi2Dvd work?

I've read around the forums on TrustFm and tried fixes like installing Xvid and I'm sure my hard drive is in NTFS format so that can't be the problem. Also the filename doesn't have any weird characters in it (its called video.avi). So i'm stumped at what else to try. Maybe i need some other codecs or something?

Any help is much appreciated.

avi2dvd works under win 7 - 64 bit.
Please install the codecs like the ffdshow codec pack

I installed all of the codecs in the Avi2Dvd installation? Are there external codecs i need? If so could you please give me the links to codecs i may need?

Hi,

Sorry for long time since reply, i have been away.

But yes the problem is still there and happens for any AVI. I have tried about 7 and fails for them all, yet if i try on my windows xp machine they work...

I tried installing that codec pack and it hasnt made a difference...

Anything else i can try?

Thanks!

Avi2Dvd is fully functional under win7 32/64 bit. It is a codec problem.

Hi,

I've just performed a complete fresh install of win 7 again and the ONLY thing i have installed is avi2dvd. No Antivirus, no Windows updates and still the same bloody error message came up for ANY .AVI file i tried. This is so frustrating!!

I hate to say it but it looks like i'm just going to have to find another program that converts .AVI to DVD??

Try this, install GSPOT http://www.headbands.com/gspot/v26x/index.htm and direct your AVI files to it. Check to see if GSPOT confirms you have the codec required. Use the bottom panel of GSPOT (Proposed Codec Solutions and Tests) to see if there are any problems.
