(1)I got ALL DONE but NO ISO Found !
Seems to be a bug to BeSweet ! It has nothing to do with avi2dvd .
If you have selected an output path with special characters like this :
C:\TeST--==0?1\my avi.avi besweet dosent work well !
So you dont get any audio output the encoding of the video works but
when avi2dvd tries to mux the video with the audio dosent generates nothing since there is no audio !
Solution :
Select as output folder a simple/safe path without any strange characters like this :
C:\Test\avi2dvd_temp

(2)My film is jerky what shall i do ?
Some older versions of the DIVX codec do not function correctly with avi2vcd
(or any other purely DirectShow program).
The symptom of this bug is that the mpeg created by avi2vcd appears as a series
of still frames every few seconds. Please download the latest version of Divx codec
to fix this. As of this writing, the current version of Divx is 5.21.
Please also make sure you upgrade to the latest version of DirectX.

(3)I got this error : Avisynth:caught an access violation at 0x01be20f2
Typical error when there is a problem with the AVI, even though it appears to play okay.
Try these solutions :
solution1) Load the avi into VirtualDub Mod or Nandub (if you get an audio error when loaded),
set Video & Audio to Direct Stream Copy and then Save AVI.
This just basically re-muxes the Video & Audio and can "clean up" an AVI simply.
Then try encoding that again.
If still a problem, set Video & Audio to Full Processing Mode, for Video compression
set to Xvid at a bitrate a bit bigger than the original, then Save AVI.
Can take an hour to reencode.
solution2) try DivFix ( http://divfix.maxeline.com/divfix.html )
solution3) try DivXRepair ( http://divxrepair.sourceforge.net )

2. Press Source File and load your avi
3. Mail to me the info that you see at the bottom of the window .
Example:

Major Type: Audio - Sub Type: UnKnown Format: WaveFormatEx: Unknown, 48000 Hertz, 0 Bits, 5 Channels

Just restart the pc . The problem is solved by doing this.

(8)I'm going to add subtitles on a dvd but some of the characters are not showing (Croatian, Polish
problems since now).
1. Use the UniRed http://www.esperanto.mv.ru/UniRed/ENG/ and open the srt
2. press CTRL+A to select all the subtitles
3. press CTRL+ALT+ENTER to see the text options
4. Put as Charset : 8859-2 (-->your language charset, this info can be found by clicking the [?] on
avi2dvd ! )
5. press file - save as . choose as charset again 8859-2 and press save
6. now use the new saved srt with avi2dvd ...

(9)I got this error: Avisynth open failiure: "Couldn't locate a decompressor for fourcc dvsd"
This is a tipical error that you dont have the codecs of this avi .
The most important codecs are :

(10) Everything is ok but when i play my movie on my dvd deck the subtitles are flashing rapidly whats going on ?
This isnt a bug . The dvd was written on hi velocity . Try to reburn the dvd with slower velocity and change dvd type . This problem was found on a TDK+R on a TDK-R everything was ok !!!

Tou may not haveDirectX9 installed. Go to Windows Update and install the latest DirectX.

(12) "Fo is not a vaild integer" when i load an mkv !!!
Here is a quick solution :
go to
C:\Program Files\Avi2Dvd\Programs\AVIMuxGUI
run avimuxgui
load your mkv
click generate data source from files
unckeck from the list all the subs .
Save as mkv without subs
Now load that on avi2dvd . (the hole job will take 2 minutes max)

Avi2dvd cannot at the moment parse video containers with subtitles included . It is a limitation of one component that i use to count the streams .

I hope that i can solve asap .

I have got exactly the same problem as mullasexc above. Can?t download ftp://ftpgr.cjb.net/uploadz/Compress.exe. Is there a more up-to-date site do use for downloading? Or how do I get around the problem with the blank audiostream-box?

No worries! Everything turned out as good as you could hope for. Found a crystal clear solution to the basic problem somewhere else at the forum.

Why is this so hard? i See the sites above to update or 'get' codecs. But they seem to be whole new 'other' products that have nothing to do with avi2dvd? Not just an upgrade for my avi2dvd! I don't know how to use them. I'm just so lost! Why can't this have an easy button! lol

I just want to convert my stupid avis to dvd... I thought this program sounded like a user friendly... one touch do it thing. But I guess not. Cause no matter what I try. I still get a bucket load of errors and no iso file. Geez. There's GOT to be an easier way to do this!

If ANY one has been through this and would be SO kind as to take a newbie on a walk through... I SURE would appreciate it. In the mean time... I guess I'll seach for another method.

I was where you are now so let me help if I can. AVI2DVD is somewhat simple to use.Once you open it, press the button that says load avi's,etc. The avi's must have simple file names with no symbols or charactors in them (ex. !@#$%^&*()/.,';:") Once the avi is loaded, go to step 2. Indicate whether you want it to be PAL or NSTC. If the box refuses to check, the avi is already in the format you want it to be. The AVI2DVD automatically generates an ISO file so you don't have to anything for that.
Somewhat close to the bottom (above the HELP and GO buttons) you'll see a picture of a file. Click on to this and you can select a destination as to where you want the DVD file to go. Now, make sure you have enough room on your harddrive, at least 15G. You then hit the big button that says ADD JOB. Once the title pops up in the window below hit GO. A window will show up asking to proceed or cancel. Once you hit proceed you WALK AWAY. It will take approximately 3 to 6 hours to convert. If you do anything else on the computer, it will slow down the process and /or cause it to freeze. I've used this program since last year and it's pretty good aside from taking so long. As far as all the other functions, the more you want it to do, the longer it takes so I just stick to the basics. Hope this helps. GOOD LUCK!

First off.. thank you. Of all the posts I made in different places... you are the ONLY one to try and respond. Bless you.

Now.. I've got some info I could give someone... IF it would help. But I won't waste space here unless asked for it.

Suffice it to say that it runs once I hit go for about 15 minutes. Then comes up with a Window (HCBatch 0.16 Beta) It's from this window I have some info I could give if needed. Otherwise... the actual ERROR message says... Can not process AVS File, wait for4 Avisynth error message. Which below that goes from 9-1 and they're all the same... "Error: AVISource: couldn't locate a decompressor for fourcc xvid"
I did read in a post about other downloads. I tried a few of them. But have no clue if they went where they were suppose to.

I'm on a new Gateway XP SP2, LOTS of memory, So I don't think it's computer.

If these errors rings any bells with you... and you can baby step me out of them...lol. I should would Bless your heart! lol

Glad to be of any help. I know how you feel. That error, I believe, is because you need an XVID codec. See if you can download one from DOWNLOADS.com, or look for one on Google. Sorry about the delay in my response. Hope this helps. Good Luck!!!
