Avisynth open failure & no output files
I just tried converting a short AVI file to DVD and received a "Avisynth open failure: Avisource: Couldn't locate a decompressor for fourcc dvsd" during the conversion. After hitting ok on the error message the conversion seemed to progress normally except that it went very fast. The log shows:

[11:48:40 PM] All Jobs Done !!!
The source file is an ~ 2minute video clip from a digital camera in 4:3 format, 720x480, and 29.70 fps. The AVI plays fine in a program such as Sony Vegas 6. Any idea what went wrong? This is my first attempt to use Avi2dvd.
Thank you,
Steve

Hi Steve,
I guess you have some kind of codec problem, missing or a conflict codec.
First try downloading this DV codec install it and try again.
http://www.free-codecs.com/Panasonic_DV ... wnload.htm
Let us know how goes mate.
Cheers,
JB

try to install correct codec
you can solve this problem quickly
what is the video codec of the avi movie ?
divx , xvid ?
use avi codec or gspot to get this details you can download them here
http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/AV ... 14789246/1
after analyze the video codec just install the right codec needed you can search all codec in www.betanews.com
sometimes other (like ffdshow or others) decoder give you the ability to watch the movie but using avi2dvd you need the right codec

Wow! That was a fast response. I ran avi2dvd again and looked at what was behind the error message. It was QuEnc's screen showing its parameters. It appears QuEnc did start ok. The avisynth error message mentions a "decompressor." What decompressor is supposed to be involved in the overall process?
How do I tell Avi2dvd to use Panasonic's codec?
Thanks,
Steve

Download the pack from the link I posted b4, after unzipping it to any folder just right click the .inf file and choose install.
Wait for a few seconds till it finished and reopen Avi2Dvd again (make sure it is closed when installing the DV).
That's it, now try again.
Cheers,
JB

Reburn, I just got your message. I ran gspot and it says "Codec: dvsd" and "Stat: Codecs are NOT installed." AVIcodec says the codec name is "Sony digital video" and odd information at the bottom that states 0 bytes for video and audio with a file size of 748 KB.
I looked at betanews and am not sure which would be a good codec from there. It appears the X-Lite pack may have what I need but I am not sure. Suggestion?
Thanks,
Steve
