How to get a FREE domain name and a FREE hosting plan

Part 3 - Hosting plan

2) Finding a decent hosting plan

You can register for a free account in one of these web hosting providers :

    heliohost (works from 2008)
    awardspace (works from 2006)
    freehostia (works from 2005)
    x10hosting (works from 2004)
    freehostingeu (works from 2012)
    byet (works from 2016)

If no one covers you take a look here: freewebspace.net and here: free-webhosts.com

For more serious projects i suggest a paid web hosting solution.
Lately web hosting became much more expensive than before.
That's why i have excluded from my personal list of reccomendations solutions like: bluehost, hostgator and fatcow.
These days i prefer newer web hosts providing LiteSpeed Web Server (LSWS) since offers better cache engine.
I also try to avoid cPanel as web hosting control panel since auto-updates and usually breakes Wordpress installations on Shared hosting solutions
So i suggest a few lifetime web hosting offers.
Lifetime offers usually are risky but these ones here are tested and recommended.
So for affortable paid web hosting providers i have used and recommend:

hostinger (works from 2004)
Lifetime plan : No
Web Server : LiteSpeed
Control panel : hPanel
ASN : AS47583 AS-HOSTINGER Hostinger International Limited
Reviews : Trustpilot - WHTOP - hostadvice
Notes : Pick a long term plan since they increase the prices after the first payment.

zap-hosting (works from 2012)
Lifetime plan : Yes
Web Server : nginx / Apache (upon ticket request)
Control panel : Plesk
ASN : AS30823 AUROLOGIC aurologic GmbH, DE
Reviews : Trustpilot WHTOP
Notes : Email is limited at 10mb attachments but you can request via ticket to change the limit at 20mb. If you want to use htaccess then you have to request "enabling Apache" to your account since by default they give you nginx.
The Control panel is in German but using Chrome you can right click and use the "Translate" option.

silicomnetwork (works from 2001)
Lifetime plan : Yes
Web Server : Apache
Control panel : DirectAdmin
ASN : AS40021 NL-811-40021, US
Reviews : Trustpilot
Notes : Has also resellers lifetime web offers

hyperhost.ua (works from 2016)
Lifetime plan : Yes
Web Server : Apache
Control panel : ISPmanager
ASN : AS15626 ITLAS GREEN FLOID LLC, US
Reviews : Trustpilot - WHTOP - hostadvice
Notes : hyperhost.ua is located in Ucraine and this means that their service is not accessible to all countries.
Check here or here to see it's current status.
I use their service as backup right now hoping that will become pingable worldwide one day.

3) Connecting your host with your domain/subdomain name

In the case of the eu.org domains, log in at your web host and hit the "domain-manager" or "add on domains" option from your private Control Panel.
Now select the "Host domain" option and add "yourdomain.eu.org".
Once the domain is added the host provider should give you his nameservers.
If you can not find the nameservers search them on Google.

Examples :
for heliohost :
    ns1.heliohost.org
    ns2.heliohost.org

for awardspace :
    ns5.awardspace.com
    ns6.awardspace.com

for freehostia :
    dns1.freehostia.com
    dns2.freehostia.com

and so on ...

Now go to https://eu.org/arf/
Give your username (ex : AK123-FREE) and password and hit "login".
Hit the "domains" option (https://eu.org/arf/en/) , select your domain from the domain list, and click on "Nameservers" button.
Give the nameservers of your host for example :
    ns5.awardspace.com
    ns6.awardspace.com
and hit submit.
If you get no errors you have just to wait 24-48 hours for the nameserver update.

If they send you an email telling you about the nameserver change replay to the mail in order to confirm the nameserver change.

Once your domain is "online" you can go to ClouDNS log in and delete your DNS zone called "yourdomain.eu.org"

For the uk.to subdomains log in to freedns.afraid.org
Select your subdomain and change the first nameserver .
Add again your subdomain in order to add the second nameserver given by your web hosting provider.
Below is an example for hostinger nameservers
NameServes
You are done !
